Starfield’s June Update Brings Mod Support, Improved Maps, and New Features Players Have Been Demanding

MelloGeneral Gaming News1 week ago5 Views

Bethesda fans, rejoice — Starfield is about to get a whole lot better. The sprawling space-faring RPG is receiving its highly anticipated June update, and it’s packed with major features that players have been clamoring for since launch. Leading the charge is full Creations mod support, a long-promised feature that opens the door for an entirely new level of player-made content.

Mod support arrives via the new in-game Creations menu, accessible directly from Starfield’s main interface. This allows players on PC and Xbox to seamlessly install new missions, weapons, characters, and even entirely new planets, made by fellow players or community creators. Bethesda has also launched official Creation Kit support for PC, empowering modders with the same tools the developers use. From a lore-friendly questline on Mars to Star Destroyers in orbit, the possibilities are practically endless.

But mods aren’t the only game-changing feature in this update. Bethesda has taken a scalpel to the navigation UI, aiming to address one of the most consistent criticisms of Starfield. The June patch delivers revamped surface and galactic maps that are more intuitive, detailed, and helpful when planning routes or scanning resources. No longer will interstellar explorers have to blindly guess where a landing zone actually takes them.

Other quality-of-life improvements also made the cut. Players can now access city maps — a long-awaited addition — letting them better navigate urban hubs like New Atlantis or Neon with ease. Additional difficulty options have been added, enhanced melee combat mechanics are in, and new mission types have been sprinkled across the Settled Systems.

Bethesda confirmed they’ll continue rolling out regular updates and new content, hinting at future story expansions and more modding capabilities. With this June patch, Starfield finally feels closer to the Bethesda sandbox experience fans envisioned: a universe that evolves not just from the developer’s design, but through player creativity and feedback.

For new and returning players alike, there’s never been a better time to launch back into Starfield’s stars.
