Nintendo Confirms New Console Reveal Slated for This Fiscal Year

In an announcement that sent shockwaves through the gaming community this morning, Nintendo officially confirmed that its next-generation console will be revealed before the end of this fiscal year. The highly anticipated successor to the wildly successful Nintendo Switch has long been the subject of rumors and speculation, but this marks the company’s first firm commitment to unveiling the new hardware within a definitive timeframe.

In a post shared by Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa, the company stated, “We will make an announcement about the successor to Nintendo Switch within this fiscal year,” which for Nintendo concludes in March 2025. The current Nintendo Switch launched in March 2017 and has sold over 139 million units globally, cementing its legacy as one of the best-selling consoles of all time.
