Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC Gets June Release Date, New Trailer Revealed

FromSoftware has finally unveiled the long-anticipated release date for Elden Ring’s first major expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, and fans won’t have to wait much longer to dive back into the Lands Between. The DLC is officially slated for release on June 21, 2024, across all platforms. To accompany the announcement, a brand-new trailer dropped today, offering a tantalizing glimpse into the dark and cryptic world awaiting players.

Clocking in at just over three minutes, the trailer showcases haunting new environments, terrifying foes, and at least one boss fight that already has fans wondering how many times they’ll die trying to beat it. The narrative seems to center around a previously unseen region, possibly tied to the enigmatic character Miquella, whose fate was left unresolved in the base game. Miyazaki, director of Elden Ring and president of FromSoftware, said in a press release that Shadow of the Erdtree will “expand the mythos of Elden Ring while offering new challenges for both seasoned and new Tarnished.” The DLC promises new weapons, magic, and armor sets, along with fresh dungeons and expanded lore content that will shed light on some of the base game’s most cryptic threads.
