Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Gets Official Release Date and Stunning New Trailer

FromSoftware has finally lifted the veil on Elden Ring’s highly anticipated DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, with a bang. After months of cryptic teases and rampant speculation, today the studio confirmed a June 21, 2024 release date alongside a gorgeous new trailer that has fans buzzing.

The trailer, clocking in at over three minutes, unveils a hauntingly beautiful and deadly new realm. We see ghostly landscapes, twisted enemies, and cryptic new characters—all dripping with the kind of dark fantasy aesthetic fans have come to expect from FromSoftware. Most striking is the appearance of a mysterious figure shrouded in gold, speculated by fans to be Miquella, a character deeply rooted in Elden Ring lore but never fully seen in the base game.

Shadow of the Erdtree is set to be Elden Ring’s first and only major expansion. While FromSoftware has been notoriously tight-lipped about narrative details, the trailer hints at a new realm outside the Lands Between, potentially in the Land of Shadow hinted at earlier in item descriptions.
