Xbox Game Pass Adds Blockbuster Hits While Removing Fan Favorites This Month

Xbox Game Pass is seeing another shake-up this month, as Microsoft continues its regular rotation of games on the popular subscription platform. While subscribers can look forward to some exciting high-profile additions, the departure of several beloved titles has left fans torn.

Leading the new arrivals is *Assassin’s Creed Origins*, the critically acclaimed 2017 relaunch of Ubisoft’s long-running series that brought a fresh RPG approach and expansive open-world design to the franchise. Joining it is *Forza Motorsport 7*, giving racing fans another reason to keep their engines revving with stunning visuals and deeper simulation mechanics. Additionally, *Shadowrun Returns* and *My Time at Portia* will arrive this week, bolstering both the tactical RPG and cozy life sim categories.

However, the Game Pass gains come at a cost. Several well-loved titles are set to be removed from the service on June 30. Among the biggest losses is *The Medium*, the psychological horror game known for its dual-reality mechanics and haunting atmosphere. Also departing are *GreedFall* and *Empire of Sin*, two unique strategy and RPG hybrids that offered richly detailed worlds and deep narrative choices. Smaller indie favorites like *Slay the Spire* and *Celeste* are also scheduled for removal—an especially bitter farewell for fans of challenging gameplay and emotional storytelling.

The mixed bag of additions and removals has quickly garnered attention across the Xbox community. While some see the new titles as fresh opportunities to revisit gems they may have missed, others are urging Microsoft to provide longer heads-up announcements so players can properly wrap up unfinished campaigns.

It’s clear that Game Pass remains a dynamic, ever-evolving platform, offering great value but also demanding a degree of flexibility from its subscribers. As always, gamers are encouraged to check the “Leaving Soon” tab on the Xbox Game Pass app regularly and prioritize any must-plays before they vanish from the library.

With industry expectations high following last week’s Xbox Showcase, Microsoft appears intent on reinforcing Game Pass’s position as the best value in gaming—even if it occasionally means saying goodbye to some favorites.
