Xbox Game Pass Adds Blockbuster Titles as Subscribers Hit Record High

Microsoft has unveiled one of its most impressive Xbox Game Pass lineups to date, just as the service hits a new record in subscriber numbers. The announcement was made during the company’s monthly Game Pass Showcase, revealing a wave of blockbuster titles that have gamers buzzing—including *Assassin’s Creed Mirage*, *Resident Evil 4 Remake*, and the critically acclaimed indie darling *Hollow Knight: Silksong*.

This latest Game Pass update comes at a pivotal time for Microsoft, with the company reporting over 34 million active Game Pass subscribers as of this month—up nearly 3 million since the beginning of the year. The growth signals increasing confidence in Microsoft’s content-first strategy as it continues to fold major triple-A and indie releases into its subscription library on day one.

Leading the charge in the May slate is *Assassin’s Creed Mirage*, which brings traditional stealth gameplay back to the iconic franchise. Ubisoft’s latest title is arriving on Game Pass just six months after its retail release—a rapid turnaround by Game Pass standards. Joining Mirage is Capcom’s *Resident Evil 4 Remake*, which reimagines one of the most influential survival horror games of all time and won several Game of the Year accolades in 2023.

However, perhaps the most exciting addition is *Hollow Knight: Silksong*, which finally has a release date and will debut on Game Pass the same day it launches later this month. The long-anticipated sequel from Team Cherry has been in development for years and is often cited as one of the most requested titles for the platform.

Microsoft has been leaning heavily into strategic partnerships and first-party content to maintain its subscription momentum. With the recent addition of Activision Blizzard titles—including *Diablo IV* and *Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy*—and now a lineup packed with both fan favorites and genre-defining experiences, Xbox Game Pass is steadily cementing itself as gaming’s most value-rich subscription service.

As competition intensifies with Sony’s revamped PlayStation Plus and Nintendo’s ongoing Switch Online offerings, the pressure is on—but if this latest update is anything to go by, Microsoft is more than ready to keep Game Pass in the spotlight.
